Y3 Field Efficacy Trials underway
Year three of the IVMP project has commenced with field efficacy trials being conducted in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. With a long period of dry weather in Queensland in the three months leading into Christmas, commencement of the Y3 efficacy trials had been delayed until the weather was more favourable.
Three trial sites were set up, two in the Brisbane region and one on the Gold Coast. All trial sites have suitable species composition and are secure to ensure trial sites are not compromised.
The Gold Coast site was treated on Wednesday 30 December. The trials include Suppression, Duration of Suppression and Transition. Sites were unmown at application. Follow-up mowing will be undertaken.
The sites in Brisbane for Suppression and Transition trials were treated on Thursday 31 December 2009, immediately after mowing.
